The Canon TS5351i uses Canon PG-560 black and CL-561 colour FINE cartridges. It can also use the higher-capacity PG-560XL black and CL-561XL colour versions.

Yes. The XL versions are compatible with the Canon TS5351i and fit in the same cartridge positions as the standard PG-560 and CL-561 cartridges. They are a useful option if you print regularly and want more ink between changes.

No. The PG-560 black and CL-561 colour cartridges are separate, so you normally replace the cartridge that has run out. Canon advises keeping both cartridges installed in the printer, even if you temporarily print using the ink remaining in only one cartridge.

Canon notes that colour ink can still be used during black-and-white printing, and both black and colour ink are also used during print-head cleaning. This is normal behaviour for the printer.

The Canon TS5351i still uses PG-560 black and CL-561 colour cartridges, including the XL versions. The i model also supports Canon's PIXMA Print Plan, but you can still buy replacement cartridges in the usual way when you prefer.
